Indian court orders release of two arrested Vivo employees

On Saturday, an Indian court mandated the release of two senior employees from the Indian unit of Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo. The Enforcement Directorate, India’s financial crime-fighting agency, had apprehended two executives, Hong Xuquan (a Chinese national) and Harinder Dahiya, earlier this month in connection with an alleged money laundering case involving Vivo’s Indian operations.

Govt releases draft guidelines to make railways more user-friendly for people with disabilities

Draft guidelines on the accessibility of railway stations, facilities, and trains for individuals with disabilities have been released by the government. The guidelines emphasize the incorporation of technology-enabled features, including text-to-speech and user-friendly pictograms. The Department of the People with Disabilities (PwDs) has invited feedback, comments, objections, and suggestions from stakeholders and the public until January 29 to enhance the user-friendliness of these facilities. Additionally, the proposed guidelines underscore the importance of dedicated website features for “divyangjans,” ensuring a flexible and accessible interface design.

Stones pelted at RSS office in MP’s Sehore

According to the police, stones were reportedly thrown at the office of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Sehore city, Madhya Pradesh, during the night between Friday and Saturday. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident, which occurred around midnight on Friday. An investigation is currently in progress, and the Kotwali police station in-charge, Vikas Khichi, stated that further legal measures will be taken. The RSS office falls within the jurisdiction of the police station, and the authorities were alerted to the alleged stone pelting around midnight.
