Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate projects worth a whopping Rs 15,000 crore for Ayodhya during his visit to the city scheduled for Saturday, December 30. This inauguration precedes the consecration ceremony at Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Among the key projects are the inauguration of an airport, railway station, highway, railway line doubling, and four major roads. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is overseeing security preparations ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.
Simultaneously, Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station is slated to be inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and connectivity.
The Junction was developed at a cost exceeding Rs 240 crore. The modern station features a three-story building equipped with lifts, escalators, food plazas, and childcare rooms. Notably, it has been certified as a green station building by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will first inaugurate the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station and then flag off new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains at 11:15 am. Around half an hour later, he will inaugurate the newly constructed Ayodhya International Airport. Amrit Bharat Express promises enhanced passenger experiences with improved amenities such as attractive seat designs, better luggage racks, mobile charging points, LED lights, CCTV, and a public information system.
At 1 PM on Saturday, PM Modi will address a public gathering and launch projects worth Rs 15,700 crore for the state, with Rs 11,100 crore specifically dedicated to Ayodhya’s development. Trains take centre stage as Modi flags off two Amrit Bharat Express trains and six new Vande Bharat trains, alongside unveiling railway projects worth Rs 2,300 crore.

Additionally, PM Modi plans to beautify the tourist facilities spanning from Naya Ghat to Laxman Ghat, construct a visitor gallery for events like Deepotsav, and strengthen and renovate the pilgrim path from Ram Ki Paidi to Raj Ghat and Raj Ghat to Ram Temple.
Besides, he’ll begin building a new city area called a greenfield township, which will cost more than Rs 2180 crore. Another project, the Vashishtha Kunj Residential Scheme, will commence too. These projects will significantly enhance Ayodhya’s cityscape.
Furthermore, the PM is also expected to lay the foundation stone of infrastructure projects including the Lucknow-Ayodhya section of NH-28 (new NH-27), modification of the existing Ayodhya bypass, the establishment of the CIPET centre, and the construction of offices for the Municipal Corporation Ayodhya and Ayodhya Development Authority.
The development momentum extends beyond Ayodhya, with the Prime Minister inaugurating and dedicating several key projects across Uttar Pradesh.
Beyond the grand projects in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Modi’s visit also encompasses key infrastructure upgrades across Uttar Pradesh. These include the four-lane expansion of a crucial Varanasi highway, improved connectivity on NH-730, and enhanced LPG production in Amethi. Sanitation also receives a boost with new sewage treatment plants in Kanpur and Unnao, alongside efforts to clean up tannery waste in Jajmau.
