‘Phir aayega Modi’: Hindutva, nationalism and labharthis at centre of BJP’s 2024 campaign song – WATCH

Ram Mandir, Article 370 abrogation, striking down triple talaq, and a pro-incumbency backed by a host of welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government in a decade of its rule are the major planks that the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to enter the Lok Sabha elections, seeking a third consecutive term in power.

The BJP recently launched a campaign song, titled ‘Phir Aayega Modi’, for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The 10-minute-7-second campaign song lists the many achievements of the Modi government — from Ram Temple construction, Article 370 abrogation to surgical strikes — to the numerous schemes that have created a separate ‘Labharthi’ vote bank for the BJP that cuts across caste lines.

“Modi ki Guarantee”, a catchphrase that caught on in Hindi-heartland states where BJP went through its campaign without declaring a chief ministerial face, also features prominently in the campaign video. Besides, it also has glimpses of India’s achievements such as the soft-landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the far side of the moon to the medals in the Olympics medals which it credits to the Modi government.

pic.twitter.com/mcdTElq2ru

The issues and achievements underlined in the BJP’s campaign song also reveal how the party plans to approach the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held in April-May 2024. The BJP enters 2024 on a high note with victories in three Hindi-heartland states and the Ram Temple inauguration in January.

The video showers rich praise on Modi for his geopolitical prowess as well as his focus on unmatched infrastructural development in the country while also positioning him as a leader sensitive to the needs of the poor, farmers and women. The song also takes potshots at the Opposition’s INDIA bloc, terming it an arrogant grouping of opponents that is destined to fail.

The video also features the Prime Minister’s temple visits, his placing the Sengol in the new Parliament building and his interactions with the common man. It also offers glimpses of popular schemes such as the Garib Kalyan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas, and Jan Dhan, among others. The video also credits the Prime Minister for ushering in advancements in the space and technology sectors as well as the start-up space.

“Work will speak for itself. Lord Ram will give wisdom. Modi will come again. Modi is not just an individual, he is the pride of the country who represents the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. Phir aayega Modi (Modi will come again),” a post tagged with the video on the BJP’s X page states.

High on ideological victories such as the Ram Mandir, Article 370 and electoral gains in key states, the BJP is confident of retaining power in the coming general elections. With PM Modi having declared at an earlier meeting of NDA partners that his government would return to power with a bigger mandate than in 2019, the BJP has hit the ground running months ahead of polls. The party aims to increase its vote share from 37.4 per cent in 2019 to 50 per cent in the coming elections.
