Delhi-Noida-Greater Noida Corridor: NMRC approves Sector-142 to Botanical Garden Metro section for enhancing connectivity – Check details

In a significant development, the National Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed Sector-142 to Botanical Garden Metro section during its 38th board meeting held recently. NMRC Managing Director Dr Lokesh M announced that the DPR’s approval marks a crucial milestone, with the next step involving its submission for final authorisation to the Uttar Pradesh government and the Centre, IE reported.

The envisioned project is slated to offer direct connectivity to Delhi Airport’s Terminal-1 through the Magenta line of the Delhi Metro. Dr Lokesh M highlighted that the estimated cost of the project stands at Rs 2,254.35 crore, spanning an approximate length of 11.56 kilometers and encompassing a total of eight stations.

He further emphasised the direct benefits accruing to residents in various sectors of Noida, specifically mentioning Sector-44, 45, 97, 99, 100, 104, 105, 108, and 93. According to the IE report, the MD also highlighted that the metro line would integrate Indian Railways stations such as New Delhi and Anand Vihar, fostering enhanced connectivity with inter-city and intra-city bus stations.

The approval of this DPR marks a crucial step toward bolstering public transportation infrastructure, promising improved connectivity and convenience for commuters traversing the Delhi-Noida-Greater Noida corridor.
