Realme has launched two new affordable midrange smartphones in the India market. These are the Realme 10 Pro and Realme 10 Pro Plus. Realme 10 Pro Plus is naturally the higher-specced model, its ticket to fame being its tall, expansive curved AMOLED display. There are other niceties, too, including MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1080 chip and 67W fast charging. Here’s a quick walkthrough of Realme 10 Pro Plus, its feature set, top specs, and more.

Right out of the gate, the Realme 10 Pro Plus’s biggest USP is its curved AMOLED screen. Realme goes so far as to claim that it’s offering the segment’s first “flagship-level” curved display with virtually non-existent side (1.41mm) and bottom (2.3mm) bezels. There is a tiny punch-hole cutout at the centre of this display housing a 16MP selfie camera that can record up to 1080p@30fps videos. Biometrics are handled by an in-display fingerprint reader, that works well 9 out of 10 times.

The display also has some top-shelf specs. It is 6.7-inch with 1080p resolution, fast 120Hz refresh rate, and 360 Hz touch sampling rate. Brightness can go up to 960nits and there is support for HDR10+ playback, though like most Realme phones this does not work on apps like Netflix. The screen is further certified by TÜV Rheinland for flicker-free and low blue light emission parametres. Rounding off the package is 2160Hz PWM dimming.

Realme has paired this premium display with a symmetrical plastic back and depending on the colour you choose, you can get it in both glossy and matte finishes. The cameras are stacked vertically. The overall design is clean and minimal. As is usually the case with most Realme phones, the Realme 10 Pro Plus is also very slim and light measuring just 7.78mm and weighing in at 173g.

Under the hood, you get the Density 1080 chip. It’s essentially a rebadged Dimensity 920 with slightly bumped up core speed. Performance is comparable to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. Realme pairs this with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS2.2 storage. There is no support for micro-SD card expansion.

The Realme 10 Pro Plus is the first Realme phone to boot Realme UI 4.0 out-of-the-box. This is based on Android 13.

The more interesting bit however is that Realme UI 4.0 is virtually indistinguishable from ColorOS 13 right from how it looks to how things work on the phone at the base level, at least. There are lots of unwanted apps and Realme also shows you banner ads to nudge you in the direction of new ones every time you install an app from the Google Play Store, something even Xiaomi’s Redmi is known to do in its phones.

On to the cameras, there are three of those in the Realme 10 Pro Plus. There’s a 108MP main (Samsung HM6), 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro sensor. Its predecessor phone, the Realme 9 Pro Plus had the outstanding 50MP Sony IMX 766 with optical image stabilisation leading us to rank it among the best low-light camera phones in its segment. The Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 67W SuperVOOC charging. Eagle-eyed readers will be quick to notice the missing “SuperDart” which was present in the previous generation, so, that’s one more overlap happening (apart from software) with Oppo. For what it’s worth, battery life is good and the phone tops up from 0-100% in about 40 minutes.

Realme 10 Pro Plus price in India starts at Rs 24,999 for a version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will set you back by Rs 25,999. Once again, Realme has tried to give buyers more value for the buck and it’s obvious from the get-go.
